Are you wanting to start up your prayer life and don't know where to begin? Or, are you struggling to even get started? When I started my prayer life, it was just simple and basic prayers, until I met a prayer warrior in my church that taught me that prayer was the most important part of a Christian mom's life.
After reading this post, you will be more inspired and encouraged to boost your prayer life and have the confidence to pray for your family, your situations, and for yourself!
This post is all about different prayers for blessings and for life's difficult situations
The bible tells us that prayer excels everything in your life. We use prayer in combination with fasting, in spiritual warfare, and in deliverance to enhance the power of the act we are doing.
I seen a post that said something to the effect of "When we pray, it activates the Lord to dispatch His angels to protect us". I can't remember who wrote it, but it is true. Prayer is an effective way to get God's attention. As long as the prayer is aligned with His plans and purpose, we will see God move mountains.
In 1 John 5:14-15 [NLT] it says, "And we are confident that He hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases Him. And since we know He hears us when we make our requests, we also know that He will give us what we ask for." As long as we are asking for something that is in His will, He will answer. In Philippians 4:6-7, it reads, "Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need. and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus."
In James 5:16 [NLT] it says, "Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results."
In 1 Thessalonians 5:17 [NLT] it says, "Never stop praying." We cannot stop praying just because we do not see our prayers being answered. We need to continue to lift up our prayers to Him. We can see this in Daniel 10:12 where Daniel prays and pleads for understanding for his visions and an angel appeared to him saying "since the first day you began to pray for understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your request has been heard in heaven. I have come in answer to your prayer. But for 21 days the prince of Persia [the enemy] blocked my way. Then Michael, one of the archangels, came to help me." This little scripture brings into perspective why some prayers are not answered quickly. There could be many possibilities like, it's not in God's timing, He is protecting us from danger, or the enemy is blocking our way, as he did with Daniel's messenger angel. Regardless of the reason, pray without ceasing!
Prayers for your family
Praying over your family is one of the most blessed prayers that you could ever pray. When women pray over their loved ones, they take authority! We do not let anyone, especially the enemy touch our loved ones. If something happened to our children, our husband, or our parents...WE WILL GO TO WAR!!! We turn into a spiritual Navy Seal in a second.
If you are wondering where to start with praying over your children and husband, I have a great book for you to start. These books, by Stormie Omartian helped me gain confidence in praying over them. It is easy to read and short enough to read in 2-3 minutes. I still read one prayer every day from these books. If you do not have a husband, there is also a book just for women! I use it as a daily prayer routine. When I reach the end of the book, I start all over again. Never ceasing to pray!
Apostolic & Scriptural Prayers [praying back to God, His promises in our lives]
What are apostolic prayers? Pastor Joe Sweet of Shekinah Worship Center in Lancaster, California uses apostolic prayers during his prayer meetings. On his website he quotes "The apostles could have asked Jesus anything, but they asked Him, “Master teach us to pray.” Jesus is the example of prayer, and the Apostles demonstrated the power of prayer. Grow your prayer life by praying the Apostolic Prayers." These are prayers that are scriptures in the bible and we pray them onto others and ourselves. These prayers are powerful because it is written in God's Word as promises for us. It is aligned with His Word. We are praying God's Word over our lives. Here is the Google Drive link to Shekinah Worship Center's Apostolic prayers.
Prayers for Everyday Situations
One book that I completely adore is the one by Germaine Copeland, "Prayers that avail much - Scriptural Prayers for your Daily Breakthrough". This book has every single prayer that you can think of, for every single situation. Some prayers are complex for beginners because of the words that she uses, it may not be understandable to the new believer, but it makes sense as you grow in your prayer life. I use her prayers as daily as well, reading one prayer every day. It will strengthen your prayer life.
Prayer for Protection (The Soldier's Prayer)
This prayer is simple and very effective, Psalm 91! Psalm 91, also known as the Soldier's prayer, was made popular by an evangelist who exaggerated a story about a soldier who had his unit (91st Brigade) pray this prayer during WWI and came out without any casualty. However that story turned out to be untrue by an article written by Reji Koduvath regarding the truth behind the Soldiers prayer Psalm 91.
The truth about this story of 91 Infantry Brigade and the Psalm 91 has been cleared By Mary Jane Holt in an article ‘The truth about the 91st Psalm.‘ The article refers to a communication the author received from Mike Hanlon, Research Editor of Relevance, the Quarterly Journal of The Great War Society: “There was no 91 Brigade with the AEF in World War I. The Brigades’ highest number was 84.” This story appears to have been churned out by an evangelist with a view to cash in on the sympathy the soldiers world over enjoy.
In the same article R. Koduvath writes, "The Bible historians believe that Psalm 91 might have been written by Moses, even though most Psalms are authored by King David. Moses might have written it to inspire the enslaved Israelite soldiers to fight against their Egyptian masters. Hence, Psalm 91 is known as the Soldiers’ Psalm and is also referred to as the Psalm of Protection."
Sid Roth has a handout on his website, it's Supernatural, that you can print out and hang on your wall or on your refrigerator. This also makes a great gift for someone who is moving into a new home. I would frame it and give it them as a house-warming gift. You can download this prayer handout here.
Prayers for Spiritual Warfare
There are a couple of places that I grab prayers for spiritual warfare. Here are some trusted sights I visit to print out prayers. These prayers are lengthy. When my son joined the United States Marine Corps, I prayed this every day and night - until my throat was dry and my pillow was soaked with my tears. These are great prayers to keep those strongholds off of you and your loved ones.

A Creative way to pray - Prayer Circle
Have you ever heard of praying circles around your children? I first found out about this from TikTok, I know right?! Well, there is a book about it written by Mark Batterson.
This is a creative idea to put action behind your prayer. You write out your prayer and circle it with a pencil or your finger every time you pray it. In my prayer book, I have a small prayer with a scripture promise tied to the request and I circle it (action). I was using a pencil, but it started to get dark and hard to see the words, also it got so deep that it started to rip the page, so now I use my finger.
How I use Draw the Circle: First, I date the prayer. Then I would add a scripture promise. Then under the scripture I will write my prayer. I would circle it every time I prayed it. When it got answered, I would write down the date, in red.
Here's an example of how I use my prayer notebook.
These are just a few examples of daily prayers for blessings and protection. You can also personalize your prayers based on your own needs and experiences. Remember that prayer is a powerful tool for connecting with the divine and for finding peace, strength, and guidance in all aspects of life. Keep It Together Mom!
This post is all about prayers for blessings and for life's difficult situations. I hope you were able to get an insight into the different prayers and how important it is to cover you and your family with prayers.
